Work & Business Visas — frequently asked questions
A work visa is for taking up employment in the destination country, usually needing an employer sponsor; a business visa covers short trips for meetings, conferences or exploring opportunities without taking local employment. Names and categories differ by country — the US, for example, uses B1 for business and separate sponsored categories such as H-1B, L-1 or O-1 for work.
Most employer-sponsored work visa categories require a confirmed job offer or sponsorship first. Some countries also run skills-based or points-based routes that work differently — we help you identify which applies to your situation.
We help you understand and prepare the documents a work visa application needs on your side, and guide you through the process alongside your employer's sponsorship steps where one is required.
Usually a business visitor visa rather than a work visa, since you are not taking up local employment. The exact category and evidence required depend on your destination and purpose of travel.
In some countries, time spent on a work visa can count toward a later permanent residency application, but this depends entirely on that country's own rules and is never something we can promise as an outcome.
