Passport & photographs
A valid passport and recent passport-style photographs meeting the destination's specifications.
Proof of funds
Evidence that you can support yourself for the length of your stay.
Purpose-specific documents
An offer letter, invitation, itinerary or employment contract — whatever supports the reason for your trip.
Completed application

Canada questions, answered
Tourist (TRV), business, student, work, family and other categories including PR routes such as Express Entry — categories and eligibility are set by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and change without notice.
A points-based system Canada uses to manage applications across several federal economic immigration programs toward permanent residency. Eligibility and invitation rounds are entirely IRCC's to set, and we confirm the current picture against your profile rather than assume past rules still apply.
Most international students need a study permit for programmes longer than six months, issued by IRCC against its current requirements — we confirm what applies to your specific programme and situation.
Many study permit holders can work limited hours during term time under IRCC's current rules, which are subject to change — we check the current position before you rely on it.
